Dear residents of Dongjak District! Hello, I am Mi-yeon Lee, chairman of Dongjak District Council

I feel a great sense of responsibility being elected as the chairman for the 1st half of the 9th Dongjak District Council which has just opened.

For the first time in 32 years, the Local Autonomy Act was fully revised, starting an era of true local autonomy. We’ve also started a new era of post-COVID-19 gradually returning to our normal everyday life.

To better carry out my duties as the chairman which I’ve been taken on in a time of crisis, I want to make some promises to the residents about the direction the council will be heading in.

First, the council will reach out to people and carry out heartwarming activities that will comfort people so that no one is neglected.

The council will always think about what needs to be for the development of the district and harmony within the community. Working closely with 400,000 residents of Dongjak District, we will make sure this council become a leading council in a new era of local autonomy.

Lastly, the council will fulfill its fundamental duty of maintaining checks and balances on the executive body of the district office while actively cooperating with the district office on matters at hand.

We would like to ask for your continued support and interest towards Dongjak District Council.
